I swam 1.5 km today

P.S. 1.5km is around 1650 yards which is 33 laps

Don't get me wrong. I still hate swimming. However, I am getting more comfortable where now I can actually focus on my workout.

I rode with my friend in the morning so I didn't get to swim until 4:30. When I got to the pool I noticed this lady is doing her workout because she has her set on a clip board... and the list was longgg. I started talking to her and she told me she is trying to get into the Senior Olympics. She said she is not sure because she is not fast enough. I told her to go for it because I want to tell my friend I swam with an Olympian!!! I forgot to ask for her name but I definitely check out the senior Olympics. I am telling you, if there is a hiking cateorgy, I will push my hiking friend to do it =P

I started swimming and I feel uneasy. No wonder what I did I cannot glide like a swan. I don't know why. It seems like someone is dragging me by pulling my ankle. Is there a ghost in the pool? The notorious 24 hour fitness ghost that like to slow down people that are in his lane?

Well it is what it is... so I just deal with it... lap 1...2...3...4...5... 16. By this time the to-be Olympian is leaving and she asked me how many more laps to go. I told her 17 and continue.

Somewhere along the line a guy jump into my lane so I told him to split the lane... I continue to do my thing... 17... 18... when I am at 20 something he is already done. I feel proud of myself. Good Job Louis... I told myself.

By the way I did check my 1km time and my time is 30 minutes and 50 seconds. Almost 2 minutes faster. Anyway, I continue... 22...23...24... 25... 26... 27... then this girl ask me if she can share a lane with me. I said sure without thinking too much about it. CRAP!!!!!!! I lost count! Did I finish 26 or 27??? Well I think I did 27 so I continue. No point to argue. 28... 29... 30... 31... 32... 33... I am done!!! But wait... what if I count it wrong? So I swim one more lap.

Did I swim for an extra lap? Yes I did. Can I swim more? Yes I can! My time? 46 minutes and 35 seconds. My average time is 1:24 which is 5 seconds faster per lap. I think it's a good improvement.
